Description
I guess birds can develop habits too. This photograph was taken at a little nature park in North Augusta, South Carolina known as Brick Pond Park and most days you can find this anhinga sunning and drying in the one particular tree. The name anhinga comes from a Brazilian Indian tribe, meaning 'devil bird' or 'snake bird' because when it is swimming with just its neck above water it looks like a snake ready to strike.
