Description
Watson Mill Bridge State Park located near Comer, Georgia is the home of the longest original-site covered bridge in Georgia, spanning 229 feet over the South Fork River. The bridge was built in 1885 by Washington King, son of freed slave and bridge builder Horace King. The bridge is supported by a town lattice truss system held together with wooden pins.
