Description
Traveling a back road near Thomson, Georgia I stopped to explore an old building and this little guy kept following me around. The Gulf Fritillary or passion butterfly is a butterfly found mainly in the southern United States during the spring and summer. The Gulf Fritillary is bright orange on top with black markings and three black-lined white spots on the wing. This butterfly also has a very unique defense mechanism as they release an smelly chemical to defend against predators.
