Hen of the Woods or grifola frondosa is a mushroom that grows in wooded areas particularly old growth oaks or maples. This one and many others were found in an early 1900s church cemetery. They are sought out by chefs and said to have a savory, earthy flavor with a peppery finish. I bet it taste like "chicken"!
