Barnesville, Georgia began when an Indian fighter named Jenks, settled in the Georgia wilderness in 1825. Not suited for domestic life, Jenks sold out to Gideon Barnes, a native of Virginia in 1826. Barnes quickly developed the area into a thriving community. There was Barnes' store and a tavern and inn for travelers. He also established passenger and freight lines between Macon and Columbus. Barnes also started a post office and became the village's first post master. In June of 1831 the post office and village became known as Barnesville. The area continued to thrive and became a regular stop for stage coaches traveling to and from Alabama. The Georgia Legislature granted the village a charter in 1852 and Barnesville officially became a city.

My journey with photography started out as a hobby and grew into a passion and maybe even an obsession. I tend to gravitate toward themes involving cars, music and nature but photograph a wide variety of subjects because I think you can find beauty and inspiration in everything. Thanks so much for stopping by to view my gallery. I hope they leave you with some great memories!
