Description
It had been rainy and foggy all day but I set up my camera on the top of Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina in hopes of capturing a sunset. The sky cleared just about the time the sun was setting but then the fog rolled in through the parking lot and covered the mountain. The sun turned the fog and the sky bright orange. Someone said this effect was caused by something called the Gustav Mie theory, which is a mathematical equation about the scattering and absorption of light by particles. All I know is...it was magical!
